Dear Valentine is seeking a responsible, hands-on Innkeeper to live onsite in a private one-bedroom apartment in the Lower Garden District and support the day-to-day operations of our design-driven hospitality properties.

The ideal candidate is dependable, resourceful, organized, and comfortable handling both guest-facing responsibilities and light property maintenance. This role requires someone who is proactive, calm under pressure, and able to respond thoughtfully to guest needs and urgent matters.

Responsibilities include:

• Living onsite and serving as an on-call point of contact for guest matters

• Assisting with guest support needs including lockouts, troubleshooting, and supply restocking

• Overseeing small repair and maintenance projects onsite

• Supporting the Dear Valentine operations team on a part-time basis including weekends

• Monitoring the property and helping maintain a high standard of presentation and care

Requirements:

• Handy and comfortable coordinating or completing minor repairs

• Responsible, responsive, and detail-oriented

• Non-smoker

• No pets

• Able to live onsite in the provided one-bedroom apartment

• Flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability as needed

This role may be well-suited for someone with a daytime job or flexible work schedule. However, candidates should generally be available onsite during evenings, as the Innkeeper is expected to assist with urgent guest matters and property needs through 10pm. Night shift or evening-heavy employment is likely not compatible with the role.

This is an ideal position for someone who appreciates hospitality, historic homes, and thoughtfully maintained spaces.
